Gilroy Premium Outlets

Gilroy Premium Outlets are just what they sound like, outlet stores featuring 145 designer and brand name outlets. You can find some great deals here. It’s a bit off the beaten path and a bit of a drive from most of Silicon Valley. Figure 30 minutes south of San Jose. They have all the classic stores: Kate Spade, Nike, Under Amour, Coach, Polo Ralf Lauren, Calvin Cline, Adidas, Eddie Bauer, Steve Madden and the like. There are four sections to the shopping mall, so decide what stores you want to target and drive to them. It’s a  spread complex out which makes it a very long walk from each area. It’s a more practical destination if you are on your way to southern or central California. Another 3 miles south on Highway 101 is my favorite stop…”Garlic World” (4800 Monterey Highway, 101) where you can buy unique garlic provisions and pickled items. You must go 1/2 mile past Garlic World and get off on Highway 25 to make a u-turn. Gilroy is the “Garlic Capital of the World”, and the smell of garlic is often lofting in the air.
