Shoreline Amphitheater is a venue synonymous with promoter Bill Graham and the Grateful Dead’s Jerry Garcia. It was completed in 1986. They have 6,500 reserved seat and 16,000 lawn seats. If you can fork out a few extra dollars, I highly recommend the reserved seating.
If you forget your binoculars, the lawn seats are supplemented by large video screens. Expect to drive slowly while getting in and out of the venue as there are only a few roads in and out. There is plenty of parking once you get in.
The sound system at Shoreline Amphitheater is excellent and there are several bars to reduce your wait times, and more than ample restrooms. The sound is very high quality as this venue is only for concerts.
It is a well-managed facility with tight security and very large “bouncers”. I recommend you always obey the bouncers. The nearby Sports Page Bar is a popular hang out before, during, and after the concerts.
