I have enjoyed visiting the San Jose Flea Market since I was 12 years old in 1962. It was fun then and it is still fun 60 years later. It was a go-to adventure when I raised my children. We could easily spend an entire day there, or, as long as we could before we were worn out.
There is always something to buy here for all ages, whether you need it or not. The San Jose Flea Market has five sections. The playground and arcade, the stores and shops, the actual flea market or “garage sale” type of goods, the produce market, and the main stage area.
My two favorites are the large produce market and watching the Mariachis at the main stage. The flea market itself has the aura of Mexico. Viva Mexico! It is an uplifting and cultural experience where you can hear authentic Mexican music and feast on the best burritos, tacos, and my children’s favorite, Churros.
You can buy just about anything here including plants, furniture, tires, stereos, jewelry, produce, electronics, tools, antiques, baseball hats, sombreros, shirts, shoes, authentic Mexican dresses, toys, children clothing, leather goods…you name it, they have it.
San Jose Flea Market is stroller friendly. Bring your walking shoes. I have never been able to walk the entire flea market. Open four days a week, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. You best chance to enjoy the Mariachi band is on the weekend. Parking ranges from $3 to $15 depending on the day. Free to attending if you park in their lot.
