Every time I visit the Rosicrucian Museum, I am more absorbed than before. I first came here in the late 50’s with my family and later as a required field trip in elementary school. The Rosicrucian Museum is unlike any attractions in Silicon Valley. The buildings are beautiful ancient Egyptian architecture making you feel that you are thousands of miles away from Silicon Valley.
The planetarium is of a Moorish design honoring Arabian astronomers. Once inside, I always experience a mystical chill as I view the Egyptian artifacts and mummies. Be aware that some of them are exposed mummified bodies and skulls, but mesmerizing just the same.
There a is a cast of the Rosetta Stone and you can learn about the many Egyptian Deities. In the gardens of the Rosicrucian Museum are plants from Egypt that were used as food and natural medicines. Also visit the nearby Municipal Rose Garden just a few blocks away.
