Peninsula Open Space Trust is one of the financial wheels that protects and preserves open space, agricultural lands, wetlands, and beaches. They work closely with other organization such as National Parks (GGNRA), National Wildlife Refuges, State and County Parks, and regional preserves such as Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District.
These other organizations often provide the infrastructure to manage their protected lands. POST, as they are called, is an essential arm in facilitating the accusation of open space. They have preserved lands as far north as Pacifica and as far south as Gilroy and Watsonville.
When going to their website, click on the “EXPERIENCE” tab where you can find Hiking Maps, Field Guides, and Guided Walks. Peninsula Open Space Trust is a first-class organization. They have been instrumental in preserving over 80,000 acres for your enjoyment, mostly in the Santa Cruz Mountain Range.
