PayPal Stadium

Avaya Stadium was renamed PayPal Stadium in April of 2021 and is home to the San Jose Earthquakes soccer team. This stadium is open at one end and hosts the largest outdoor bar in the United States. You can even see the field from the bar area or watch from the huge HDTV screen.

Naturally, you can use PayPal for purchases at the stadium. The parking is good with three garages and a special area designated for tailgating. This is one of the steepest stadiums I have ever been in, but once you get to your seat, the views of the field are fantastic.

It seats about 18,000 at full capacity. Be sure to use the stadium parking facilities as parking on the street can cost you a tow. Last time I was there, you could pay $100 to put a special message on the big screen.

This is an open-air stadium and if you want some shade I recommend the upper rows where there is an overhang. Room rentals are available for private or corporate events ranging from 15 to 100. The outdoor bar area can accommodate several thousand guests.
