Murphy Avenue Sunnyvale is 300 feet of restaurants including just about every cuisine from around the world. There are a few small retail stores and a unique privately-owned bookstore; Leigh’s Favorite Books and Bookasaurus.
For years this street was run down until the City of Sunnyvale took advantage of “shovel ready” funds from the Obama era. Narrow sidewalks on Murphy Avenue Sunnyvale were widened significantly, and outdoor dining became commonplace.
This page is linked to my interview featured on the Gene Burns “Dining Out Show” and we coined it as a European Village lined with San Francisco quality restaurants at Sunnyvale prices. Granted the show was recorded several year ago, but the restaurants are still the main attraction.
There is a bar and restaurant for every liking from dress-up to shorts and t-shirts. Live music in some of the local bars is common. This is a superb restaurant and entertainment district to visit without needing to walk long distances.
There is a modern hotel right in town. Good place to stay when visiting Levi Stadium, Shoreline Amphitheater, or any of Sunnyvale’s world-famous corporations.
