Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts is a first-class theatre with 600 seats in the main theatre, a large lobby, and excellent loading docks for large roll-ins and stage access. I have done eight shows here with my children and Peninsula Youth Theater (PYT) as a set builder.
The facilities have always served us well, especially with their high ceilings for accommodating multiple large fly-ins. Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts has a large lobby for the traditional meeting and greeting of the actors after the show.
Children’s theater often matches the quality of adult productions both on and off Broadway. The singing and acting excellence will amaze you. Also performing at the theater is TheaterWorks, and Upstage Theater Group.
The lighting, soundboards, and orchestra pit are also of professional quality with live orchestras for the PYT productions. There is ample parking in the underground garage.
If you have children, I highly recommend getting involved with the Peninsula Youth Theater group. From the first day of auditions, to Tech Week, to the emotional closing show, the experience will build positive character and a powerful sense of accomplishment for your child and yourself. Get there early and experience dining at one of the many restaurants in Downtown Mountain View.
For nearby quality concerts check the schedule at Shoreline Amphitheater.
