The Japanese Tea Garden in San Francisco is walking distance to several other attractions including the Botanical Garden just across the street. This is an authentic Japanese Garden that includes five acres of genuine Japanese features.
My most favorite as a child was the arched drum bridge. There is an abundance of Japanese plants, steppingstone walkways, pagodas, and stone garden lanterns. Be sure to visit the tea house that overlooks the garden and enjoy a hot tea. Your tea will be served with a fortune cooking that was introduced to the United States by the original caretaker of the garden, Mr. Hagiwara.
