House Family Vineyard

House Family Vineyard is a small but very high-quality wine producer located in the agricultural hills of Saratoga. The House family has made special efforts to keep this land agricultural and out of the hands of big developers, as much of Saratoga has seen in the past.

I was raised in Saratoga and have a deep admiration and respect for their efforts to protect this land and delicate open space. Dave House, the principal owner, has extensively tested the soils, documented the long-time weather patterns, and has scientifically determined this hillside is best suited for Cabernet wine.

House Family Vineyard wines are excellent, and although Cabernet is their signature wine, they also produce Zinfandel, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Malbec, Sauvignon Blanc, and Syrah. Reservations are required under the Appointment tab. Check their website for their re-opening.

Light cheese and crackers are available to snack on, and there are unobstructed views of Silicon Valley from the open-air wine tasting patio. Be prepared to walk a few hundred feet along an easy pathway to arrive at the tasting area. You will not be disappointed. Also nearby is the beautiful Hakone Japanese Garden.
