Golden Gate Park is in a beautiful natural setting in the heart of San Francisco with many famous attractions and hundreds of acres of open space, lawns, sports fields, seven lakes, and trails. Some of the attractions your can see in this park include California Academy of Sciences, the Japanese Tea Garden, de Young Museum, Conservatory of Flowers, and the Botanical Gardens.
Other features of the park are the fly casting pools, buffalo paddocks, Dutch windmills, giant tree ferns, rhododendron gardens, and expansive lawn and picnic areas as large as 10 football fields. Golden Gate Park is over three miles long and ½ mile wide, about the same size as Central Park in New York City.
Locals will have parties with as many as 500 people and barely be notices. It would take several days or perhaps a week to see all the different areas. There are only a few parking garages, while most of the parking is along the roadways. It is free to enjoy Golden Gate Park although the major attractions have admission fees. If you plan to see the entire park you will need a bicycle.
